Heyyyyyyy you guys!! It’s been a while! How are you guys doing? I’ve missed yall! So guess where I was this week? Just guess!! Sokoto! I know you’re probably like ‘What the hell are you doing/looking for in Sokoto?’ Well, It was an impromtu trip. I found out I was going on Monday evening and booked my flight for Tuesday! I was excited and a bit annoyed at the same time.
It was raining heavily on Tuesday morning in Lagos. I got to the airport on time. Checked in, ate the shittiest chicken sandwich ever (Tbh, I should’ve known better), and read a lil bit.
The flight was pretty smooth for the most part. Transited in Abuja. read some more. P.S (I like the packaging of the snacks on aero contractor flights.
Finally, I got to Sokoto. Got in a taxi and went to a family friend’s house.
I really wanted to explore Sokoto but everyone was busy and I didn’t want to go out on my own.
I don’t think they have buses in Sokoto. Na so so keke and okada everywhere.
I went to the teaching Hospital, the library in the teaching hospital, and church.
Met these cute lil girls.
Side eye game so strong. Babygirl needs to shower tho.
Made some friends, talked about life with a stranger at the airport.
Decided to start reading a book which turned out to be a good book.
Finally, we left Sokoto.
The flight wasn’t bad. One flight attendant kept flirting with this man. It was funny at first but got annoying later. I mean, by all means seize the bae but do we really have to hear you flirt? Girl, bye.
Finally got to Lagos and had to wait for my dad for like 30 minutes. It wasn’t so bad tho because I got news that I’m now officially Aunty Tosin! 🙂
Things I learnt about Sokoto (Random notes)
- It’s a desert right?
- There are lots of trees in Sokoto. That means it’s not a desert right?
- People barely spoke English. It was hard understanding them most times.
- People are actually nice. I forgot my phone in a keke napep and was able to get my phone back at the end of the day.
- The weather is bipolar. It’s freezing in the morning but hot in the afternoon and freezing at night.
